More Labore than Arte! The Chelsea Football FanCast #144
Chidge and the boys discuss the win over Blackburn Rovers, the “Fannies”, bets with Paddy Power, transfers with Heineken, an old skool terrace classic involving shagging and beer, Jonny Bumstead, “Dear Mart” and “You’re on CFFC”. Confused – you will be!
We were all at the Bridge on Saturday to see Chelsea eek out a workman like win over a stubborn Blackburn Rovers – a rare occurrence recently – a Chelsea win in the Premier League! The boys discuss Brana Ivanovic’s man-of-the-match performance, JT’s new role as striker and Ramires (now known as ‘Ray-Mears’) improvement. On the down side the attack looked toothless, and the Bridge was a bit of a morgue for much of the match! Never the less, we award our weekly Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Celery and Guinness moments popularly known as the “Fannies”!
With a bit of research from Ross we tip up a few bets for the match against Bolton next Monday with our special Paddy Power free bet offer, and we also have a discussion on who we would like to see arrive at the Bridge in the transfer window, sponsored by Heineken.
Jonny Bumstead, Chelsea stalwart for 13 years in the days “when we were shit” is the featured player in “Don’t Look Back in Anger”, and appropriately a terrace classic from the days when Chelsea regularly took 10,000 and more away to Norvern outposts is belted out in “We’re Out To Show The World The Way To Sing!”
Finally, Dr Mart offers up some Chelsea diagnosis in “Dear Mart”, and the best Facebook posts of the week are featured in “You’re on CFFC”.

Just what the Doctor ordered! The Chelsea Football FanCast #143
The boys are back after a long three week break encompassing Father Christmas, Flu, Chelsea getting spanked by Arsenal, throwing it away against Villa, being humiliated at Wolves and then finally redeeming themselves on Sunday with a 7-0 thumping of Ipswich. Glorious Unpredictability or what!
As well as discussing the game against Ipswich on Sunday and having a cursory chat about the other four matches, we also award our Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Celery and Guinness moments. We also pick out some top bets from Paddy Power and offering an exclusive offer for the Blackburn game this weekend. We’ve also got a special promotion courtesy of Heineken.
As its Dr Mart’s birthday, we open the Champagne and then our throats as we belt out another classic song from the Chelsea terraces in ‘We’re out to show the world the way to sing’, this week specially selected by the Dr.
We’ve got a brand new feature this week called “Don’t Look Back in Anger” where we look back at the short but fun filled Chelsea career of one Vincent Jones aka Bullet Tooth Tony.
And to wrap up we have a special birthday edition of Dear Mart, and the best posts from the week in “You’re on CFFC”.

Chidge and the boys discuss the postponement of the game against the Mancs, the upcoming game against ‘The’ Arse, and have a Christmas themed sing song, Dear Mart and You’re on CFFC, all washed down with plenty of Xmas spirit!
Chidge is not happy about the postponement of the game against the Mancs, whilst ChelTel, Chris and Ross are the voice of reason regarding the decision and also the fact we were all confident of victory! Turning to Next week’s game against the Arse the boys predict a return to form with the sight of our traditional whipping boys. We’ll also be picking out some top bets from Paddy Power and offering an exclusive offer for the Arsenal game which you can access by clicking on www.paddypower.com/chelseafancast
We have a review of the year for the match awards this week as we have a look back at our double winning year and reveal our choices for Man of the Year, Chant of the Year, Guinness moment of the Year and Celery moment of the Year. A test on the dubious memories of the boys if ever there was one!
After all that we have a Christmas themed “We’re out to show the world the way to sing!” with some classic songs from the Chelsea terraces.
In the absence of the AWOL Dr Mart, Chidge dons the surgical mask to answer your Chelsea related questions in ‘Dear Mart’. To wrap up, the boys read out the best posts from the week in ‘You’re on CFFC’.
A very merry ‘blue’ Christmas to all our listeners and a happy trophy laden New Year. Up the Chels!

The FanCast crew is in somber mood as they discuss what can only be described as Chelsea’s relegation form with 5 points from a possible 18 in their last 6 matches. But don’t worry the mood lightens after a good rant and a few classic terrace songs, not to mention an old fool called Dr Mart!
To quote Carlo: “I am disappointed. Angry. Not just because of the result but because we played such a poor second half” Well he’s not the only one. But, what’s going wrong. Is it too much tinkering behind the scenes by the men at the top? Is it the absence and lack of form from our key players? Is it because many of our players are just not good enough and the squad has a lack of depth? All will be revealed in this week’s Chelsea FanCast as we discuss the match against Everton last Saturday.
As well as discussing the match, we also award our Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Celery and Guinness moments which leads to the usual arguments! One thing the boys all agree on though is the need to get behind the team when they need it most rather than booing or leaving early. Tut tut!
Once the analysis (?) is out of the way, we endeavor to put a smile back on everyone’s face with a very appropriate terrace song from the past. Come along, come along…
We have an exclusive offer from Paddy Power – spend £10 and get a £20 bet free, and Chidge and ChelTel give you the benefit of their betting wisdom with a few top bets for the game against Marseille on Wednesday.
If you are feeling the pain of our beloved Chelsea not performing quite like they should, then Dr Mart is in the house to prescribe a very Chelsea like blue pill to keep you up and at them for the week ahead. Some really good questions in ‘Dear Mart’ this week, including the fallout from FIFA; should the players get a bollocking or a cuddle and Super Josh McEachran in the holding role or as the playmaker. As always, proceedings are rounded off with the best posts of the week in ‘You’re on CFFC’.

The Chelsea Football FanCast #139: Time to stop moaning!

A more measured response to Chelsea’s performance this week by the FanCast crew, as they try to STOP MOANING! All that plus another olden but golden terrace song, the Madness of King Roman, FIFA, Dear Mart and You’re on CFFC.
After the draw with Newcastle, it’s not getting any better really with Chelsea still struggling to put away poor opposition, and relinquishing their position at the top of the table to the loathsome Mancs in the process. The return of Essien, JT and Lamps can’t come soon enough, and judging by the increasingly miserable and isolated looking Carlo, he agrees.
But one thing to give us hope is us, the fans with another sterling performance by the loyal supporters who travelled the length of the country in a blizzard to cheer the Blues on. If only the players could show the same spirit and determination on the pitch as the fans do off it…
As always, the boys dish out the Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Celery and Guinness moments. And after that they re-visit a real Chelsea Terrace classic heard at the game…
In attempt to put the world to rights, the boys discuss the news that Guardiola and his team might be coming to Stamford Bridge, and ask the question: Why? And with the announcement as to who FIFA will award the World Cup this week, expect some rampant jingoism, nay zenophobia on the subject from the boys.
Having put a big shout out to the listeners, we’ve got loads of questions for the good Dr in this week’s Dear Mart, including Chelsea fringe players, how to cope with Chelsea struggling when you’re not used to it, and why we sing ‘and Leicester’. And we read out the best posts from the week in You’re on CFFC.
