Third Now The Target – Where Do Chelsea Go From Here?

What a weekend of football in the Premier League, despite only getting a point we have managed to get one point closer to Spurs and one point further ahead of Arsenal in Fifth.

Whilst it is painful to rely on favours from the Manchester clubs we should gratefully accept a fortuitous weekend, one that confirms that the title is indeed a two horse race between City and United.

So where do we go from here?

With the title gone our best hope can be that we can hold our position in the top four and overtake  Tottenham for third.

This will not be easy unless we find some form, we have a decent platform in a five point advantage but if we are to make sure that our mediocre season does not become disastrous, we need to find some consistency.

Teams seem to have figured us out at the moment, we are slow and predictable going forward which allows our opponents to set out two defensive lines and snuff out our creativity.

If we are to persist with a 4-3-3 then we need to add pace to our play, we need to play Mata in the centre and have to out and out wingers to give us more power going forward.

Will these be found in this transfer window, I doubt it but if AVB is going to be given a chance to fully rebuild the squad he will have to ensure a top four finish with what he has first.
