Game Summary v Wolves
Finally we have a convincing win for everyone to focus on.
Ok so we would expect to beat Wolves at home every time we face them but with recent form it was enjoyable to see us win convincingly once more.
We saw some interesting selections from AVB with Frank Lampard being rested and Fernando Torres starting from the bench as once again Didier Drogba was favoured.
Despite one or two nervous moments we were defensively strong and able to keep a clean sheet as the team controlled the game for large periods
In midfield we saw the impressive Oriol Romeu making his first Premier League start since joining from Barcelona. The youngster looked calm and at home in the heart of our midfield that hummed and kept Wolves under control for most of the match.
Upfront it was the Juan Mata show with the Spaniard clocking up a goal and two assists to earn the man of the match award.
Overall a comfortable day at the office for the team, yet victory is unlikely to keep AVB out of the firing line for very long.
We have some tough tests coming upin the next few weeks.
Between now and Christmas we will be in action in three competitions and a strong showing will be needed if we are to harbour any ambitions in any of them.
