Why CFC Fans Can Be Optimistic Despite Lack Of Signings

There seems to be a great deal of hype that Chelsea have yet to secure a major transfer target in the form of a Luka Modric of Javier Pastore.

If you read certain internet forums, you would be forgiven that Chelsea had already written off the 2011/2012 Premier League season with the two Manchester sides set to duel it out without the Blues in the mix.

This pessimism seems foolish with the squad at our disposal and the fact that the season has not started and the transfer window still open for another month.

Those who doubt the club’s readiness so early in the season need to take a deep breath and relax we have one of the best squads in the league managed by a young manager with pedigree, drive and ambition.

With the exception of the midfield that requires at least one new addition, the squad is strong and talented with some of the biggest names in the game.

Now is not the time to over pay for unproven talent such as Javier Pastore or be held to ransom by rivals who own players that we covet.

n the next week I will be analysing the squad, but for today I want to maintain that even with the current personnel we are competitive and will be there or thereabouts next season.

Let us leave the negativity to the teams that should really be nervous next season such as those managed by Arsene Wenger.
